The Art of Buying Together: A Family Tradition Reimagined

The Art of Buying Together: A Family Tradition Reimagined

Posted by Pierluigi Parente on

Years ago, my grandfather would make a single trip to buy olive oil in 50-liter containers and wine in damigiane (traditional large glass containers) for our entire family. Following the rhythm of rural life, this wasn't just about convenience – it was about stocking up for the year ahead, respecting the natural cycles of production, just as communities had done for centuries. Fresh olive oil right after the harvest, wine when it was ready. A simple system that made quality products accessible while bringing people together.

In our increasingly individualistic society, we've lost these collective practices, opting instead for smaller, more frequent purchases at higher prices. This memory inspired Terra Collective's approach. Twice a year, in February and September, we're bringing back this practice with a modern twist.

Here's how it works:
1. During our pre-order weeks, you select the amounts you'll need
2. We combine everyone's orders and work directly with our producers
3. They prepare the products for us so we always get the freshest/latest harvest available
4. A few weeks later, your wines and olive oils arrive at your doorstep

For our producers, this means predictability and larger orders. For you, it means access to exceptional artisanal products at accessible prices. And once you participate in a pre-order, you'll get special member discounts for any refills you need throughout the year.

Sometimes, to move forward, we need to look back. Join us in bringing back the art of buying together.
